Tuesday Tease: First 14 Minutes of Games of Thrones
Posted by mistergroonk in One Sheets, Television on April 5, 2011
Official Synopsis
Kings, queens, knights and renegades use schemes and swords to battle for the throne.
What We Learned:
There’s something not right in the woods near The Wall. The laws in Winterfell are unbending. Sean Bean remains epic.
Why We’ll Watch:
Let’s get this out there now. We know very little of the George R. R. Martin series of books this HBO series has adapted. Many of our friends have said fine things about the fantasy novels. We just haven’t made the time to get into them. The HBO series was a passing curiosity at most. Now that we’ve seen the 14 minute teaser, our interest in the series has risen considerably.
When’s it coming?
April 17, 2011 on HBO.

Late Tuesday Tease: The Hunt for Gollum
Posted by mistergroonk in Movies, Trailers on April 29, 2009
We’re not kidding anyone here, faithful readers. It is, in fact, not Tuesday as of this posting. It is a rule of ours to not count it as the next day until we see the glimmer of that first, pink light. Also, this Hunt for Gollum business would have come and gone by next Tuesday.
The Hunt for Gollum is an unauthorized 45-minute fan-film set in the Lord of the Rings universe, set to premiere at the Sci-Fi London film festival.
[…]
The whole thing is being produced for £3000 — but it looks like a million. The story was inspired by an appendix to Lord of the Rings, in which Tolkien explains “what Aragorn and Gollum got up to before the trilogy began.”
As far as fan-film trailers go, it wasn’t a horrifying experience. It didn’t choke us “what in hell did I just put into my eyes?!” Which means It has a chance of being halfway decent. If only we lived in London.
Mashup: LOTR + Transformers: The (Real) Movie

As the DNC churns along its wake filled course, and the RNC looms in the future, I began feeling a bit mythic. Some would say fanciful. I long for the days when good and evil were easy to determine and you didn’t need a score card to tell which one was the lesser of each.
It didn’t hurt that I wanted a time appropriate reason to post a Lord of the Rings + Transformers mashup found on You Tube via Agent M.
