Music Break: Download Adam WarRock’s “Parks + Rec” EP. It is Free and Epic. Waka Flocka Swanson!
Posted by mistergroonk in Digital Share, Just Freaking Neat, Music, Television on February 9, 2012
What it is: In the latter weeks of Janurary 2012 Adam WaRock dropped a three track EP dedicated to the television show Parks and Recreation (Parks & Rec to those in the know). Mr WarRock has already fed our nerd rap needs for months with his constant tracklog updates and the shiny “Browncoats Mixtape” released back in the fall of 2011.
The Parks & Rec cast know of the album. Jim O’Heir(Jerry) and Ben Schwartz(Jean Ralphio) sent out their tweets of appreciation. Now if only the show runners use one or all the songs in an upcoming episode. We know the former CEOs of Entertainment 720 would be all over these jams. But would Leslie Knope and Ron Swanson be on board? Write it up, writers!
The popularity of his Parks + Rec EP took WarRock by surprise. We don’t know why. The album is mint. Our favorite cut is “Knope 2012” featured directly below. The other two cuts, which tie at second in our book, “Waka Flocka Swanson” and “Knope 2012” lay below the jump.

Here and below the jump lay three bits of shiny we’ve collected dealing with the all too short Firefly universe.
1) Adam Warrock “Browncoats Mixtape”
This beautiful collection of Firefly inspired jams was released into the wilds of Internet a few months ago. Since then, we’ve listened to the thing more times than we can count. It’s that shiny. We suggest you download it for free and confirm it for yourselves. Any true Browncoat would.
Download the shit out of this. Now.

Music Break: I Fight Dragons is “Helplessly Hoping,” Sings with a Gameboy.
Posted by mistergroonk in Digital Share, Just Freaking Neat, Music on May 26, 2011
I Fight Dragons, our other favorite chiptunes band, released a Crosby Stills & Nash cover song today via their email list. It’s pretty neat. We dig the Gameboy accompaniment and especially love that it is autotune free!
There’s only so much obvious modulation that we can stand.
Jump below the cut to watch and hear.

That’s Kirby Krackle greeting us with a holiday tune “Vigilante Christmas.” Which is a parody of “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.” People sure like singing that song the closer to C Day the world gets. It’s no wonder we need a year before we can stand to hear it again.
You can download a free copy of “Vigilante Christmas” by running over to KK’s official site and signing up for their newsletter.

Good Morning, Recursive Colbert Costume. Keep the Fear Infinite.
Posted by mistergroonk in Digital Share, Intertube Madness, Just Freaking Neat, Tutorials on October 29, 2010
Redditor, Sirberus has prepared himself for the coming rally to keep fear and/or sanity alive. He has done what any mindful citizen would do before this momentous occasion in American history.
He made some neat swag.
We hear you, behind your respective keyboards, scowling and griping about not having a neat DIY shirt to wear to our nation’s capitol on October 30, 2010.
Well bitch no more, Internet. Sirberus has provided a link and kindly instructions on how to make your own rally shirt.
I’m trying to figure the best way to deliver this. I’ll likely host the high-res files somewhere and put a link up on my site with a step-by-step on how to make it. In total, it should only cost around $15 or so to make your own (I got my shirt for $3, a pack of iron-on’s for $7, and some card-stock paper for like $5). You can obviously make more for friends and such.
