Welcome to Nerd Rock Edition of #MusicMonday. Step below the threshold and experience tunes most melodic and geeky.
So very geeky.
Kirby Krackle “Zombie Apocalypse”
We’ve long known about nerd rockers, and Thundarr the Barbarian aficionados , Ookla the Mok. Great White Snark‘s report on Kirby Krackle‘s new video last week opened our ears to some fresh, new nerd rock. It was new to our ears, anyway.
Below is the video, created by some of the folks from Adult Swim’s Metalocalypse, for their lovely ditty called “Zombie Apocalypse”. Three guesses what it’s about.
Did you catch all the geek and pop culture cameos? If not, that’s ok. Sit back and sample KK’s entire album via the widget under this sentence.
Then go and buy both albums like we impulsively recklessly happily did.
“Geek and Gamer Girls”
This music video parody proves Geek and Gamer Girls really do exist. Extra geek cred for appearances by a rapping Seth Green, Battlestar Galactica’s Katee Sackhoff and Stan Lee.
Break.com and Seth Green advertised the release for this ode to “Geek and Gamer Girls” today(which is Saturday). We’re waiting until today(which, if you’re reading this, should be Monday) because it will be #MusicMonday. It’s a fair guess this video should be well on the way to being viral by today(Monday). Only the Timey Whimey Ball will tell.

Many thanks to Dunc! for the heads up on this one.
“Galactic Empire State of Mind”
Here’s an oldie, by Internet standards, but a goodie. This College Humor geek take on Jay-Z | Alicia Keys’ “Empire State of Mind” will not leave our heads. And it closes out this nerd rock Music Monday on the nice prime number of three.
