Bay Area honors King’s 1963 ‘dream’

Phyllis Jones didn’t know she was witnessing a watershed moment in American history 40 years ago as her feet dangled in the reflecting pool while Martin Luther King Jr. gave his now-famous “I Have a Dream” speech.
“I didn’t realize I was part of history,” said Jones, then a 21-year-old woman from a small community in Louisiana who had just moved to New York to take a job in a sewing factory.
But that experience in Washington helped launch a lifetime of political activism for Jones, an Oakland resident and charter member of Black Women Organized for Political Action.
“Now people ask me, ‘Was the dream fulfilled?’ Not really, but it’s better, ” said Jones, who is retired from teaching in the Peralta Community Colleges
Selfless acts should be remembered

NEW YORK – The two men were covered with soot, their eyes bloodshot from the smoke and heat. One found a clear stairwell, the other tore open a wall with a crowbar. In all, they rescued at least 50 people from the burning north tower of the World Trade Center. In the end, it was they who perished.
The heroics of Frank De Martini and Pablo Ortiz were reconstructed by The New York Times for its Friday editions from interviews with those saved, affidavits and nearly 2,000 pages of transcripts released by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the trade center’s owner.

(CBS/AP) In the frenzy of phone calls that followed the terrorist attack on the first of the twin towers, trapped workers begged in vain for an escape route and anguished wives desperately sought lost husbands. Screams and sirens echoed in the background as bodies dropped out of the sky.
“Yo, I’ve got dozens of bodies, people just jumping from the top of the building onto … in front of One World Trade,” says a male caller. “People. Bodies are just coming from out of the sky. … up top of the building.”
Electric milk run

LONDON (Reuters) – A Welsh race-car driver claimed the first milk van speed record Thursday after zooming at 73 mph in a souped-up electric machine.Electric milk vans, called “floats,” are one of the quintessential features of British life, designed decades ago to run in silence, so the legend goes, to avoid waking slumbering citizens when the milkman drops off pints of milk at dawn.
The floats have not been known for their speed until Welsh Formula 3 racer Richard Rozhon got behind the wheel of his brand new Electron E150 on a track at the Bruntingthorpe Aerodrome in central England.
Rozhon was at something of a loss to describe the experience.
“It’s a radical designed futuristic vehicle,” he told Reuters by telephone. “Something sort of out of the space age. It’s a futuristic looking milk float.”
Rozhon said he set the speed mark with no milk bottles on board, but guessed it could go nearly as fast when fully loaded.
Another team tried to set a record in a conventional float on the same day but barely got to 50 mph.

‘God Haters’ haul 10 Commandments away

You don’t have to read the story but watch the ‘Put it back!’ video. It is priceless.
MONTGOMERY, Ala. ? A chorus of demonstrators joined an irate man in screaming, “Put it back!” Wednesday after a monument of the Ten Commandments was wheeled away from the rotunda of the Alabama Judicial Building.
“Get your hands off our God, God haters!” yelled the wildly gesturing, red-faced man who initiated the chanting.Suspended Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore (search), who installed the engraved set of tablets two years ago and risked his career to keep it there after a federal judge ordered it removed, said he would take his fight to the U.S. Supreme Court.
“This is a tremendous victory for the rule of law and respect for religious diversity,” said the Rev. Barry Lynn, executive director of Americans United for Separation of Church and State. “Perhaps Roy Moore will soon leave the bench and move into the pulpit, which he seems better suited for.”

I have no words for this one:
sacfree? makes your sac free!
In former times there were boxershorts or slips.
Today there is sacfree?, the first boxerslip of the world.
sacfree? brings you pleasant liberty and defines your necessity.Briefly: A new dimension of comfort and liberty for your balls.
And… sacfree? is sexy.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
THE FORESKIN
The medical practice today does not support circumcision because it is seen as unnecessary and a waste of resources, in fact some men in recent years have actually had surgery to recreate their foreskin lost to them in infancy.
THE WILLYBRUSH
Some European countries have now made circumcision illegal and it can only take place with the owner?s consent.Wills Gentlemen?s Cleaning Brush, ?GCB?, is the natural alternative to male hygiene.

Zombie Alert Home Protection System
Posted by mistergroonk in Uncategorized on August 28, 2003
So does this protect against old school Night of the Living Dead zombies or new style rage infested zombies?
It has been of a hundred years since the last documented zombie attack in the continental United States. This uneasy peace with the dead, however, cannot last forever. Are you prepared for the inevitable???
Consider these sobering facts:
-Ninety-five percent of Americans live within two miles of a cemetery or mortuary.
-Most Americans use and value their brains — the natural food of zombies.
-Ninety percent of zombie related fatalities occur in the home.
-The only proven defense against zombie attack is an effective early warning system
I want the best my zombie-warning money can buy.

MSFC takes responsibility for damage

Marshall Space Flight Center’s director Wednesday said the center is responsible for the wing damage to the space shuttle Columbia from foam shed from the external tank. And he said the center is developing a fix to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
“At Marshall, we manage the external tank. We bear the responsibility of the foam coming off the tank,” Marshall Director Dave King said in a news conference. “We also bear the responsibility now of making this vehicle as safe as we possibly can.”
