As far as we can tell it began with The Matrix. Then a few years ago True Blood had one, too. Online comics introducing or set inside their movie/TV counterpart universe. We’re sure there have been others but those two are the first to come to mind.

Now the highly anticipated movie, INCEPTION, has a prologue comic that, to our eyes, leads directly in the upcoming movie. And it’s 19 pages of a damn good teaser. The art is beyond exceptional. The story gave us exactly what we needed before the movie release.

Currently INCEPTION has an 88% on Rotten Tomatoes. If that matters to you at all. It doesn’t for us. Unlike other directors, Nolan has proven(to us at least) to be consistently entertaining and intriguing filmmaker.

That’s a rare thing these days.
