The idea behind the Branding category was to create new entry logos for the site on a fairly regular basis. It was to keep me familiar with photoshop, force me to learn new photoshop/programming techniques, and keep the visual creative juices bubbling. I also had to idea of making them quickly thrown together concepts. This was to keep me from overthinking the damn things.
Although true branding involves using one specific logo to get people to immediately associate a company with whatever product they’re pushing. My brands change.
Groonk.net is movies, comics, humor, holidays, pop culture, and TV.
The ideas and concepts may change. But the name is always the same.
I’ve had this one on the boards since August of 2005. It was to go up around the time Six Feet Under closed it’s curtains. I got distracted and abandoned the idea.
Early this year, 2006, I began thinking of closing the doors to this site once and for all. I ultimately decided against that idea as well. Instead I resigned to change my goals. The Six Feet Under logo continued to hang around, begging to be used.
So I used it.
The Deathday became a Birthday instead.
BTW the entry images(main, blog, music) came after talking to a friend of mine. He said that all he saw was changing images when he visited the site. For whatever reason he didn’t have the presence of mind to click the non-entry identified logos. I figured others might have a similar mindset so I added the ‘enter’ images ever since.
That’s groonk.net; Altering it’s design for the unaware.
