Google Hates Sex…well, GroonkSex Anyways

I got this in my email from a Google bot late July.

Hello,

While reviewing your account, we noticed that you are currently displaying Google ads in a manner that is not compliant with our policies. For instance, we found violations of AdSense policies on pages such as http://www.groonk.net/blog/mt-archives/cat_sex.php.

As stated in our program policies, AdSense publishers are not permitted to place Google ads on pages with adult or mature content.

[corporate niceties omitted]

Thank you for your cooperation.

Sincerely,

The Google AdSense Team

Now I knew they didn’t want their ads on sex sites but for the life of me I never considered that my little Sex section would be considered porn. Porn-ish for certain. Porn-like, possibly, but not flat out porn.

It’s funny to me. The sex section has been dry for months cause there are countless little moochers out there who decided to leech any image I posted. Especially these.

I used to be one of those bastards, but I only took from the big sites. The rich sites. The little guys I left alone. GNET is not a big site. Unless you’re paying for my bandwidth or downloading them on your own site leave the images be.

(BTW. I no onger take from any site.)

I’ve taken steps to prevent the thievery. Hopefully, The leeching is under some kind of control. But there won’t be any other blatant sexy photos cause the rest of the class can’t play nice.

I’m not one for kissing and telling anyway. There are literally millions of other sites out there that do. Search them out and read them, or whatever you do with them, to your heart’s content.

I’ve dropped the Google ad sense nonsense cause circumventing that one section is a complete bite in the ass and I’ve never gotten any cash from that worthless endeavour anyways. Wasting mind-energy on pleasing Google sensibilities is not high on my current project list. No offense meant towards Google. I’ve yet to hear anyone making any sort of cash from the Ad Sense project. Just ask any official TWIT.

Ah well. Enough bitching and kvetching. On with the show.

Team Groonk

Update: Good Lord. The Google gods are frowning on me. The minute I post this I can’t send or save drafts of emails in gmail. Who knew a neo-corporate information gathering system that seeks out partnerships with humanrights violating countries could be so senistive? I take it all back. Just give me back my access.

Citizens of the United States

Good Morning.

It’s your birthday America.

Don’t be shy. Bare it all for freedom. Don’t let The Man hold you back. Let the sweet breasts of independence sway freely(this is for legal ladies only) to see.

Now, don’t you feel better?

(And thanks for the card, Zeke.)

GDN: a mewling toddler full of promise

It was three years ago today that it happened.

The United States of America officially went to war against Iraq. Dread disease was being spread in local taverns and clubs. Fifteen orgasms were being had across the Heart of the Valley. And I got off my ass and put together this bit of noise.

the beginning

It was to be groonk.com but something french and hairy took that domain. Groonk.net became the new, name to be feared.

I had no idea how this would pan out. I only wanted to improve my web skills while forcing myself to throw words together on a page at a semi-regular basis. I also wanted a place to keep up with the oddities found via the internet.

The time before GDN I share net-strangeness with select friends over email. When the Newsmine booted-up, I stopped the emailing and my friends were non the wiser. Or maybe their burden lifted. I don’t think many of them visit this humble domain that often. Which is fine, really, because this project wasn’t for them.

GDN grew into a full time deal. A convenient thing since I didn’t have formal employment back then. I don’t have formal employment now but I do have school. I’m working for that degree. Finishing what I started after many, many, many mistakes.

this is Susan Powter. google her. The last three years, GDN kept me from going insane at a time when my confidence could fill a shot glass. It has been my window and soapbox into the world. It has also been a crutch. I’m supposed to be improving my writing and confidence in sharing words so that I can step into the professional cut-throat literary career. Only I spent most of my time finding the inspirations and logging them instead of putting together the stories for print.

I’ve considered stopping the insanity more than once. Only to find I miss the damn thing when it’s gone. So structure will have to be the new key. What I mean by that will become obvious as time passes.

In the meantime I will have some cake, sip some tea, and avoid that death option – for another year at least.

The Waiting's the Worst Part

Doing my best to fix things. Can only go so far when you’re not in complete control.

If I post things and everything comes correct, I’ll lose all the things I posted before.

So I wait. And bitch. And email…

In the meantime, enjoy “Loose Bits“. It’s my del.icio.us social bookmark. It holds the extra stuff. The quick jabs. The read-me-laters :

Broken again

Every fucking thing has gone to hell. All my satellite sites are fucked and I’m mad as snakes.

Things will be fixed as soon as I figure out what the hell happened.

IE is the devil's tool

Folks trying to view this section with the browser IE may experience loading issues. I’m not sure what the issue is just yet. I’m only sure that this site works best in Firefox.

And that IE can lick my taint.

This message is mostly for folks who use multiple browsers for whatever reasons.

I’ll work on the issue when time permits.

Closed for the Holidays

That yearly beast called Christmas and the circular ritual that is New Year’s has called me away.

Not that you didn’t notice.

Gone for the week, am I. Only to return in the new year. If you’re lucky.

In the meantime, play a game or rejoice in fear(look to the top right).

To be continued…

Go!
