May there be Happy Fun Toys for Everyone
“It’s the Happy Fun Toy!”
Victoria was very excited by it. She pressed a button and the HFT sang its special song. It danced a jittery dance, too. She was so captivated by th HFT that all her troubles seemed to melt away.
She said she borrowed(see stole) it from a nephew of hers. She was ashamed yet seemed to be dealing with her larceny quite well. It was another night at Philby’s . The Guinness flowed like rain and Mike shared the stage with the HFT. Just another Tuesday night in Huntsvillle.
We all need Happy Fun Toys in our lives, I think. It’s time for me to run off for a couple days. May that jolly fat man sneak into your house and place many fine things under your indoor shrubbery.

Groonkly Bit
It’s not as important, I would say, in drama, to shorten an eight-word sentence to three words, but it’s really important to shorten a five-sentence speech down to two sentences.
Remember, it’s a sculpture and you’re Michelangelo. Chisel away enough stone and there might be a naked guy inside.

You, Me and the World Make Three
Hey, everybody! Did you hear?
You are the person of the year.
Yeah, “YOU”.
You shared your extensive Mighty Orbots knowledge and had the will to make a shrine to it on the web. You gave us Sesame Street love and reminded us(some of us) the 80s had its good points. You wrote poetry of crushes and love and heartbreak in the span of days. You, the indiscriminate blogger, told the world of its lies, spreads rumors about who’s fucking whom, bitches about the cat peeing in today’s cereal(finding the taste tangy but familiar), and spoils blockbuster stories like so much curdled cheese.
You are the ones who may now celebrate your you-ness. You make the web pages. You create the marketing spots. You gather the data into information that the world processes faster than a kooch shot hat trick.
You took pictures. You made a virtual new life. You made common sense common. You complicated everything simple. You fought in wars. You saved lives. You saved the lives of those who fought in wars.
You bickered. You moaned. You kvetched. You loved. You hated. You cared.
You laughed at “sugartits“.
You copped out and made a blatant play for grabbing a larger circulation of magazines by making everybody the subject of you appreciation(I’m looking at you, Time magazine).
You saw the future and inspired new thought. You shared your hearts and added to the great subconscious.
You blasted our souls with delights and horrors newly shown.
You made the internets worry. You made lust easy to find.
You gave me a way to talk about You, yet share links about me.
I guess what I’m saying is, ‘Thank You.’ Good or bad, You made the world a little smaller and certainly more aware.
(The video featured above is a documentary called Baraka in its entirety. It’s not a movie that warrants explanation. Rather, it should be experienced. I will say this about it, “The title Baraka is a word which means blessing in many different languages.”)

Endings Don't Have to Be Somber
I watch NIP/TUCK.
Make all your jokes now cause I sure as hell can’t hear them.
Done? Good.
The weird thing about this show is that it’s completely and utterly weird. It’s American yet telenovela-esque. It’s out of its damn mind and sometimes poignant. It’s schlocky most times but I watch it just the same.
The best thing about shows like this is they can do odd little numbers like have various members of the main cast mime an entire song like a REM video gone terribly mainstream and still manage to get away scott free. Maybe not guilt free but definitely scott free.
Now,thanks to NIP/TUCK, I know about The Submarines and I’m gonna buy their album before my Christmas break. I’m gonna buy them all up.

Groonkly Bit
No quotes have struck me as quotable lately.
Then I read this:
“You can’t please everybody. Don’t burn bridges. Do what you love and the money will follow.”

A Very Special Rocketboomas
Rocketboom grants groonk.net(and several other loser blogs) a very special Christmas gift. Utilizing their wiki skills, they’re letting anyone who has a website to post their link on the Rocketboom main site. It looks like I got the groonk name in about mid page on a Thursday.
And with a lazy click or two, my minute of internet-fame is secured.

Aang: So, Toth thinks you give pretty good advice and great tea.
Iroh: The key to both is proper aging.
AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER “The Crossroads of Destiny“
Iroh is…was…voiced brilliantly by Mako. The show itself is a thing of beauty. The arts lost something wonderful when Mako passed.
