Sin City

Let?s get into this.

Bad news first?

Cons:
1) One or two of the cgi bits were off-putting.

2) Some of the dialogue worked better on the page than on screen.

And then the good news?

Pros:
1) For 126 minutes, I lived in Basin City.

2) I drank its booze.

3) I kicked the shit out of its lowlifes.

4) I fucked its whores.

5) I protected my own.

6) I fought the good fight.

My cons list is just nitpicky stuff. The only CGI bit that really put me off was the police car Marv hijacked. Something just wasn?t right about the way that sucker moved.

Much of the dialogue was lifted straight from the comic. From my personal fanboy perspective that?s pretty fucking awesome. But there were a lot of places were the written dialogue was not fit to be spoken dialogue. I know it. You know it. I?m sure they knew it. Yet, there it is.

In the end, Robert Rodriguez?s Sin City is a pony I?d back any fucking day of the week. Seeing Frank Miller?s supposedly un-filmable books come to life on the screen was fucking noir-filled bliss. Proving ?the doubters? wrong is always a good cause. And there are several other books to pull stories from. Are you ready to prove them wrong again Mr. Rodriguez?

Plus, Jessica Alba: scrumdiddleyumptious!
