The Best/Worst Overload to Keep You Busy

The year’s nowhere near over but the best/worst lists are piling up like week old laundry. I don’t have anything against such year end reviews. I just never made the time to see/watch/read/do all the things discussed on said lists. Any reviews I make would be damn incomplete. So I’ll rely on others to do my dirty work.* Then judge them appropriately when I find their results wrong.

Heh.

Entertainment Weekly’s Best & Worst of 2008
It’s surprising how a crap magazine can get a few things right once in a while.

I’m tempted to pick up EW tomorrow for the HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER photoshoot. The entire cast acts out random moments in 2008. If the show were as cool as the cast seems to be, I’d still be watching HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER.

Pitchfork Media put forth two bits of bests so far. For those who don’t know, they’re the Indie Rock Pete of the online music media game. Bursting forth from the ashes of what Rolling Stone used to be, maybe 20 years ago, I look forward to running through their tracks to discover something new and majestic and not found easily on mainstream radio.

Yankee Shonen Writer Josh Hechinger(do yourselves a favor and pick up Comic Book Tattoo why don’t ya?) was kind enough to share his views on the best comics of the year 2008. Based on his word alone, I immediately threw SUPER SPY by Matt Kindt into my Amazon wishlist to buy immediately after the Christmas season is done and all my loot collected.

MSN composed a list: MSN Lifestyle’s Most Influential Men of 2008. They had me until I reached The Jonas Brothers. That’s the very minute MSN became irrelevant to my interests.

Amazon.com has their bests up and rolling.

The Best of the Best Short Films in the World are up at Indy Mogul. What is the best Short Films in the World? It’s Bobby Miller watching short films sent in to him, judging said films, and broadcasting the week’s best every Thursday on Indy Mogul. How does he have time to do all this? He has no girlfriend and he doesn’t get out much. It says so in his theme song.

Wil Wheaton reviews himself over 2008.

Best 50 Astronomy Photos of 2008 is self-explanatory.

Photoshop Lady runs through the 100 Most Popular Photoshop Tutorials of 2008.

ONTD is collecting a list of the Most Memorable ONTD Posts of 2008.

Over at Geek Tyrant, Dr Venkman has created his Top 10 Movies of 2008. Of the ones on the list that I’ve seen, I wholeheartedly agree. The unseen movies mean, I need to get myself on Netflix and soon.

LA Weekly also has a list of Best Movies of 2008. 10 or 17 of them.

The Daily Cartoonist has a 2008 Year End Review of the cartoon industry. You know: comics.

(*This list will grow as needed.)
