PONYO ON THE CLIFF BY THE SEA
Hayao Miyazaki‘s (Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke) latest opus is close to the breaking shore. Sadly, Disney marketers still haven’t figured out how to cut a proper trailer for all the wondrous things you’ll find inside a Miyazaki flick.
Equally legendary animator, Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell), offers curious insight on PONYO. Know that we will be watching it as soon as this little town offers the chance and forming our own opinions.
COLD SOULS
Paul Giamatti is feeling a bit weighed down. No doubt it’s from being Paul Giamatti 24/7. Whilst reading The New Yorker he discovers that a new company can store and freeze dry your soul. Giamatti doesn’t like not having his soul, so he seeks to have it re-installed only to find that it’s gone! Then follows what we guess is a merry chase to regain that which he carelessly misplaced. The writer, Sophia Barthes is obviously very French.
This film is certainly on our radar. There is a certain pain born from the fact we learned about this flick via The Daily Show interview. That’s one to you Old Media.
