What I&#8217;ve gathered from this 11 minute pilot is:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the <a href=\"http:\/\/tvtropes.org\/pmwiki\/pmwiki.php\/Main\/TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt\">world as we know it is done<\/a><\/li>\n<li>the means to this end is <a href=\"http:\/\/tvtropes.org\/pmwiki\/pmwiki.php\/Main\/ApocalypseHow\">unknown<\/a><\/li>\n<li>there are critters out there that want to eat you<\/li>\n<li>bad things hide in post-apocalyptic refrigerators<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/zefrank.com\/\">Ze Frank<\/a> is a &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/groonk.net\/bits\/?tag=ze-frank\">White Devil<\/a>&#8221; (but that&#8217;s only <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0001368\/\">Winston Zeddmore<\/a>&#8216;s opinion)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/johnaugust.com\/\">John August<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/johnaugust.com\/archives\/2008\/the-remnants-in-script-form\">wrote<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/johnaugust.com\/archives\/2008\/the-remnants\">directed<\/a> this gem of a potential web series during the strike&#8217;s darkest hour.  This may explain why everyone seems to click very nicely.  It could also explain how he got so many fairly well known names to appear.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Sadly, REMNANTS may be doomed to never be seen as a true series.  <a href=\"http:\/\/johnaugust.com\/archives\/2009\/the-remnants-in-full\">August reports<\/a> that the current economy and other factors have stalled any future episodes.  This is unfortunate. The comedy is still a bit raw but at least it was funny. Ze Frank surprised me with drama.  Everyone else performed pretty much as expected.  Which is to say, they did a pretty good job, considering budget and location and etc etc etc.<\/p>\n<p>THE REMNANTS was found while browsing through <a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/\">Vimeo <\/a>for suitable content. Anything worth watching or talking about, really. Like You Tube, there&#8217;s a bunch of crap floating around Vimeo&#8217;s general populace. Unlike You Tube, the <a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/hd\">video quality<\/a> is outstanding 8 out of 10 times. Although their search and browsing capabilities could be a bit better. I&#8217;ve resorted to flipping through the <a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/staffpicks\">Staff Pick<\/a>s to find worthy watches.<\/p>\n<p><strong>UPDATE:<\/strong> It appears as if THE REMNANTS has generated a small fan following. at <a href=\"http:\/\/drafttheremnants.com\/\">http:\/\/drafttheremnants.com\/<\/a> you can offer how much a season of THE REMNANTS is worth to you. How much are you willing to pay for new, original work, people?  This is the new world of entertainment.  Your enjoyment is no longer dictated by the greedy few but the greedy <strong>you<\/strong>!<\/p>\n<p>*Steps down from soap box.
