I’ve been reset.<\/p>\n

Still processing the events of November 4, 2008.<\/p>\n

I believe Obama was the best choice for this country at this time in history.<\/p>\n

I remember that, first and foremost, he is a politician. no matter how well intentioned, everything implied with the word ‘politics’ is in play.<\/p>\n

Yet I can not stop thinking: this time, the president looks like me. I-I’m going to have to re-crop my cynically tempered world view. You can imagine how confusing this has been.<\/p>\n

It’s something I never figured would happen in my lifetime. My parents saw the tail end of the worst of how the USA can treat those it deems second class citizens. I got maybe a third of that treatment growing up. But now. Now I truly believe that anyone can be the president.<\/p>\n

Having said that, despite the previous 8 years with the soon to be ex-President, the scrutiny of your coming tenure will be unimaginable, President-elect Barack Obama. Being first is not always the most glamorous place. If you live up to being the man I saw campaigning over the last year then things will be fine.*<\/p>\n

Expectant hopeful eyes are on you.<\/p>\n
