“Hula Cam” with GoPro vs Corey Rich’s “Why” with Nikon D4

Two videos presented for your perusal.

1) “Hula Cam” is shot with a GoPro HD HERO (seen here before when a man filmed a shark stalking him). This video’s gotten a lot of notice since it’s debut in December 2011. So much so that TheOriginalHelski has dropped info on how she filmed it.

2) “Why” is a promotional video interviewing sporty folk doing sporty things in sporty locations. We’ll be damned if we still don’t like it. The video is filmed, we’re assuming, with the Nikon D4 and hits all the right buttons to make us consider buying the thing. Then we saw the price and re-thought everything.

The GoPro HD Hero remains in our thoughts as it remains closer to our price range.

Watch both videos under the cut.

Good Morning, Mother Nature. Man Challenges You Yet Again.

The man had climbed over protective bars several feet further back from the edge in his pursuit of the ultimate wake-up call and was fortunate to survive as the area was engulfed by water.

Waves are created when wind blows over the a certain area of the seas. This is called the fetch. A ‘captured fetch‘ happens when a storm moves in the same direction of a fetch, so that the wind keeps pushing the same waves following them.

Monkeys Make Tree Catapult to Escape Lab, Lured Back with Peanuts.

A group of 15 monkeys at Kyoto University’s primate research institute in Aichi Prefecture, which are the focus of a string of high-profile scientific studies, escaped from their forest home which is encased by a 17ft high electric fence.

The monkeys made their bid for freedom by using tree branches to fling themselves one by one over the high voltage electric fence located nearly three metres away.

However, despite the intelligence shown in their great escape, the primates appeared unsure as to what to do with their newfound freedom: the monkeys remained by the gates of the research centre and were lured back into captivity by scientists armed with peanuts.

The terror. The tragedy. Imagine being clever enough to plot escape from your hairless ape captors. Then to achieve freedom you discover you don’t know how to define “freedom.” So you lounge around the jail you called home only an hour before.

You sit there, lounging. Freedom as only your monkey-brain can describe it. Then the hairless apes manipulate your primal needs with the weakness they studied, and maybe encouraged, into your very animal soul.

Fansigns

First off, I’m not kidding myself. I don’t get half as many hits as diepunyhumans . Hell, my visits aren’t even a drop in that bucket.

However, thanks to yahoo’s generous offering of 100 mb of mailspace, I’m going out on a lark.

FanSigns are self-portrait images with the name of the person (site) you’re fan-signing on a sign…Most folks just hold a sign up or something with a message. Mostly, you should just have fun with it.

I’d like one of these things.

If it pleases you, send one of these suckers to me at tellgroonk [at] gmail [dot] com . Be sure to drop your website URL in your email if you want people to check out your site. I reserve final pick on what gets posted.

If it doesn’t please you, well, you only lost a minute of your life by reading this.
