Giant-Sized Geek and Giant-Sized Marvel, Comics Blog for Comics Addicts

What Is It?: Two blogs submitted for your approval. Both dedicated to the curiosities and artful epicness of comics. A favorite from Giant-Size Marvel is Bruce Timm drawing the Women of Marvel(seen above). While Giant-Size Geek has been flooding our brains with Jack Kirby Fourth World Galleries and 1970s Conan portfolios.

Back to the Timm drawing, we always thought Marvel animation’s biggest failing was not having a consistent style in the beginning. The elegant simplicity of his work always drew us into the DCAU* in the ’90s.

Music Break: Matthijs Vlot Sings “Hello” with Help of Dozens of Popular Movies

Props to Matthijs Vlot for finding just the right lines from the right movies to make this one minute of wonder.

Just a note, works like this won’t be possible if SOPA or PIPA or a similar government sponsored act that tries to regulate Internet.

It’s Christmas Eve, Boys and Girls. Be Good or the Krampus Will Whip You.

Twitterer @RonSalas retweeted an old Christmas card @CalamityJon created a few years ago.

The Krampus is an old myth that the Venture Brothers introduced us to a few years ago. Take a walk through YouTube and you’ll find tons of contemporary parade and Traditional Krampus videos all up in there.

Now imagine our surprise when we learned obscure mythologist writer most extraordinary, Neil Gaiman, did not know of the Krampus.

We’re still reeling from this revelation. Reality as we know it may never recover.
