Robot Envy: Japanese Robot will do Sexy Turn on the Catwalk
HRP-4C runs on battery-powered motors in her body and face, designed to give her the expressions, gait and attitude of a supermodel.
Americans fear the coming of the robot revolution. Japan sees robots as the salvation of man. Americans have TERMINATORs come back from the future to feed our robot apprehensions. Japan has mecha and living dolls. The mecha in anime and manga, powered by humans, are humanity’s saviors. The living dolls reflect the human condition. They learn all they know from us, add these skill to their tool belt, and fly off into space to save us from ourselves(or the invading interdimensional army lurking at our borders).
We admit to having… trepidations… over a future with our robot oppressors. But with constant doomy dooms of doom being preached at us from the safe desks of newsroom floors we’ve become tired of preaching the end times. It is time to embrace the synthetic.
What better way to start than with robots programmed to display fashion?
