Watch: Animated Movie Title Squences of 2010
MONOmoda’s made a list of the best animated title sequences in movies and television. Their list covers the most interesting titles of the aughts. We chose the opening themes of 2010 as the main focus and posted them here.
Good Omens
Steven Wood not only created a wonderful idea for how the movie ending to Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s book Good Omens, he cast the director(Edgar Wright), principal players (Simon Pegg, Peter Serafinowicz), and production crew. This bit is entirely fictional, of course. in fact, it’s borderline fan wank territory.
But even we have to agree casting Good Omens as Wood envisioned would be a good pull.
End of 2010 Movie Hat Trick: 2 Killer Movie Montages. 1 Sexy Year in Photos.
It’s the death throes of 2010 and we’ve gathered a few of the finer video and photographic tributes to its cinema.
Matt Shapiro’s 2010: The Cinescape
Video editor, Matt Shapiro, has compiled a stellar montage of all the films of 2010 set to “A Dustland Fairytale” by The Killers. It’s the visual equivalent to DJ Earworm’s yearly mashup ear-honey United State of Pop. The only thing left to wonder is how we’ve missed Mr Shapiro’s work for all these years?

Today in Star Wars: The Firey Death of Garven Dreis.
MedicMike dropped this in our email with little explanation.
The unknown artist had this to say:
“Garven Dreis? Who is Garven Dreis?!?” – tcha, the name of this brave pilot, who gave his live in the battle of Yavin, is not very well known, but his callsign Red Leader is! This little diorama shows the very last scene with Red Leader in Star Wars – A New Hope… the plaque shows his last words (so to speak…)
As we were unsure if this was inventive or just plain lazy, we asked MedicMike. Of course he cleared up everything with the simple statement, “At best, it’s an inventive way to be lazy.”
Indeed.

Saturday Christmas Theater: THE INN KEEPER, “Do You Have a Special Baby Inside You?”
We won’t lie. This post is coming to you while we’re stuffing our face with ham, peas, potato salad and the like. This is for those of you who need to step away from the family for a bit. Check out “True Blood’s” Sam Trammell as the questionable inn keeper that put up a pregnant family for the night.
